Happy New Year to all my lovely readers. Wishing you all the happiness and success.
Today I am gonna share with you all some information about our make up base. If you are not into makeup routine and didn’t get the concept of skin/ color correctors, concealer, and foundation at the same time. Then today’s post will surely help you. Let’s understand how to get the perfect base.
Note: The moisturized face is essential for the perfect base. So do not skip the CTM process before starting makeup. After that use a primer to make the makeup last longer. Primer preps the skin and gives the remaining makeup smooth finish.
Color correctors:
When you are having the uneven skin tone, dark spots and redness on the face then you can correct them with color correctors. You must have seen colorful palettes and wondering how to use them and what colors to put on what area of the face. There are many shades available in drug stores according to the skin tones.
These are the basic shades which are available in the almost every palette in different variations. So we all are not blessed with naturally beautiful, clear and even skin tone. Therefore, for the proper coverage, we need to correct the flaws like blemishes, redness, and dark spots. It’s a simple process so do not hassle yourself if you are a beginner like me. Now let’s talk about the colors.
What to apply where?
White: To highlight the face. Put some white correctors with brush or fingertips and apply on the areas you want to highlight, i.e. browbone, cheekbones etc.
Yellow: Use yellow to cover all the purple shade imperfections like bruises, you can also cover dark circles with this shade.
Purple: If you have hyperpigmentation skin problem then you can normalize your face with purple shade. Like if you have yellow spots you can cover them with purple color.
Green: It is meant for redness on your face either its zits, nose area or blemishes, you can apply the color to neutralize the face.
So here are done with skin correcting process. Make sure you blend perfectly and do not take excess product just as little as required for coverage.
Foundation:
There is a confusion between what to apply first concealer or foundation? Some women apply concealer first and some apply foundation first. I advise you to apply foundation first. It covers all the corrected base and gives even finish and if you do not need to correct the imperfections as if you do not have any then foundation can give you medium to full coverage depends on the product’s consistency. Also, if you apply foundation first it covers almost all flaws and maybe you do need to apply the concealer and if you do then you will definitely require less quantity. After applying foundation always blend it until it looks like second skin. For cheeks, use a circular motion and for the whole face, blend downwards. Invest in blending tools, such as for liquid foundation use the brushes which are dense with a flat top. It will use less product and blend the product well. For cream-based foundation, use a sponge and make sure to use a wet sponge(squeezed of course) so it will not soak the half of your product.
Concealers:
The concealers are meant for covering dark circles as after using the yellow corrector you need to even the area just like the whole face. Also, you can highlight your face with the concealer such as the center of nose & chin, forehead, and top of the cheekbones. Blend it to the perfection as it’s consistency is thicker than foundation.
Note: Use a compact or loose powder to set and mattify the base and to keep the product in place. By using loose powder or compact you can extend the duration of makeup. If you are using colored powder then make sure that it matches to your foundation shade.
You can skip the color correcting process if you are blessed with a clear face and can use singular shades too for the imperfect area. Also, you can just apply BB creams and compact powder when you want a medium coverage and do not want multiple layers on the face.
