Winter season is equal to waking up late and sipping tea or coffee in the blanket then a whole hour of lazing on the bed (totally wasted shamelessly) because it’s too cold outside but trust me its bliss. Winter means flaunting the best of jackets we have, showing off the coolest leather boots and having chilled ice cream or cold drink in the cold weather are amusing things about this season. Here comes the major issue to care about that’s our skin!
In winter, your skin wants your extra attention so let me tell you some of the quick tips you should never miss in the chilled weather. Also, follow the tips religiously to see the results. As we need food multiple times in a day to stay healthy, our skin also needs care on daily basis.
So here we go..
1. Don’t skip drinking at least 8 to 10 glass of waters in winter.
I repeat, DO NOT SKIP. Keeping your skin hydrated in winter is equally important. I know we don’t drink as much water as compared to summer but it’s not the good thing. Trust me if you do follow this tip, your skin will be able to stay hydrated. Water also helps in detox (cleansing the blood). This step also helps in keeping the acne at bay.
2. Follow the CTM regime twice in a day.
Cleansing, Toning and Moisturising (CTM) are must do things in skin care regime. In fact, it is so essential for your skin that you should never give it a miss. Follow the CTM process twice a day in winter, First after waking up and second before going to bed. As we all know going to bed with any trace of makeup results in unhealthy skin. This tip will leave your skin soft and moisturised this season.
Also before applying the make up moisturised skin is important to avoid the cakey face. Pay attention to your skin type, generally, we have three types of skin which are dry, oily and combination skin. So choose products as per your skin type for CTM process.
3. Use lukewarm water to wash face and hairs.
Hot showers are pure joy in cold weather, BUT it is not good for your skin and hairs. Especially when it comes to your face because our facial skin is too sensitive as compared to the whole body. Our skin produces some natural oils to keep the skin hydrated naturally, but hot water simply leaves our face dry. Also in the same case of hairs, hot water leaves our hair dry and dull.
If the temperature is way too more than it also damages the scalp which will result in hair fall and weak hair strands. So mainly hot water for hairs and face is a strict NO. Lukewarm water will pamper your skin and hairs nicely.
After all, soft glowing skin and silky shining hairs are goals for every season.
4. Sunscreen to rescue.
YES, in winter too. Do not skip the sunscreen whenever you step out as UVA and UVB rays are still there. Plus, as we love to sit in the sunlight in chilly weather, so it’s better to stay protected with sunscreen.
5. Exfoliation twice in a week.
Scrubbing helps in removing the dead skin and makes the skin supple. Don’t give it a miss if you want your skin to look refreshed. Don’t do this on the daily basis as it can dry and irritate the skin. Instead of it scrubbing twice in a week is significant for the smoother feel. The whole body exfoliation is recommended to eliminate the dead skin completely and if you do so then pay special attention to hands and feet.
One thing I swear by in all Seasons.
Maybelline Baby Lips, this is the product you can see with me anytime, anywhere. I just can’t do without this product because earlier I used to have cracky lips all the time, but ever since the product has launched, it always has remained with me and always pampered me with smooth lips. So, don’t forget your lips and keep them hydrated. Its come with SPF also… feeling relieved.!
AND hair oil massage twice a week, at least one hour before the shower is the best way to pamper my hair. I always try to stick with this step especially in winter to add the shine to my hairs.
