I have said multiple times in my blog posts that how important CTM (Cleansing, Toning & Moisturizing) is for our skin.
Are you wondering why it is important?
To nourish skin, to hydrate and to make the skin radiant and healthy looking. The CTM skin care process keeps skin youthful and clear. You just need to use the right products as per your skin type.
If you are not sure about your skin type then read my post for skin type here.
Today, we will discuss the cleansers which are meant for your skin type.
Cleansers for normal skin:
If you are the lucky one who has normal skin then make sure you protect your blessed skin type with Milk cleansers/ Cleansing milk. As the normal skin is perfectly balanced one so we should know that how can we maintain it.
If you opt for tougher skin cleansers then you will end up having dry, dehydrated skin. But when you use milk cleansers, it melts all the dirt sitting on your face and deeply cleanse the face. These cleansers leave your skin soft, supple and hydrated. Though you can use the toner after cleansing to balance the moisture on the face.
As milk cleansers do not produce any foam and can not be washed away by water (due to the emulsion of fats in cleanser), you just need to massage the cleanser nicely on face then wipe off with a tissue.
These cleansers are helpful in removing light makeup also. In case you are wearing little makeup, just don’t forget to double cleanse your face.
If you already used milk cleansers and didn’t like to use them, then you can use ‘Micellar Water.’ These water-based cleansers are just perfect for gently cleaning the face while leaving the face hydrated at the same time.
Recommendations: Lakme Deep Cleanser Cleansing Milk, Khadi Natural Cucumber Aloe Vera Herbal Cleansing Milk, Nivea Refreshing Cleansing Milk, & Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water.
Cleansers for oily & acne-prone skin:
A nicely cleansed skin allows other skin care product to deeply penetrate and work effectively. So make sure you choose the right product as per your skin requirement. For oily & acne-prone skin, the best type of the cleanser is which comes in Gel and Foam forms.
As these forms help in removing the oil from your face and reduce the clogged pores. While foam cleansers are best for acne-prone skin, make sure you do not buy a product with harsh chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulphate. As it can really irritate your skin.
Foam cleansers literally strip off all the oil from your face. Therefore, if you do not like such cleansers you can opt for gel-based cleansers as these remove the excess oil from the face without making it completely dry.
The ingredients you should look for in the cleansers are Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Tea Tree Oil, Witchhazel & Alpha Hydroxy Acids. These ingredients are best for the oily and acne-prone skin.
Recommendations: Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser, Biotique Honey Gel Refreshing Foaming Face Cleanser, Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash, & Nyassa Tea Tree Oil Face Wash.
Cleansers for combination skin:
As combination skin is the complicated one, so to maintain this skin type make sure you do not experiment much with cleansers. The ideal type of cleansers would be the gel-based and water based. Because it will just remove the impurities, dirt and excess oil from the face. Plus, balance out your oily T-zone and normal skin.
Recommendations: Nyassa Tea Tree Oil Face Wash, Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water, Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Water, & Biotique Bio Berberry Hydrating Cleanser.
Cleansers for dry & sensitive skin:
Finding a right cleanser for dry skin is very important in order to maintain the healthy skin as the dry skin often have problems like dullness, roughness, & patchiness. Hence, go for the cleansers which removes all the impurities from your face and leave your skin moisturised.
The ideal cleansers for dry and sensitive skin are cream, oil, milk and water based.
So you have a pretty good amount of choices between the consistencies. You can switch to different cleaners as per your skin requirements. But make sure you do not use the products which consist of sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), parabens, phthalates & petrolatum.
Find the products which are non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic because it will prevent you from clogged pores.
Focus on the products which have ingredients such as Vitamin E, Jojoba oil, Argan oil, Green tea, Almond oil, Shea butter, Sunflower seed oil & Sodium hyaluronate. These are the best ingredients for your skin.
Tip: Try to avoid the harsh chemical based skin care products. Instead of that go for organic products or products with very mild chemicals which will cause no harm to your skin in the short or long term.
Recommendations: Inveda Moroccan Argan Oil Cleansing, Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Oil, Miss Claire Prestige 5 Seeds Deep Cleansing Oil, The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Cleanser, & Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturiser SPF 15.
